Portsmouth Pro Musica Holiday Concert
This holiday season, Portsmouth Pro Musica will present J.S. Bach’s Cantata #140, “Sleepers, Wake!” at two Seacoast performances. As one of Bach’s most familiar and performed chorales, based on a hymn tune written by Philip Nicolai in 1599 “Wachet auf,” Cantata #140 will be performed in German accompanied by Sam Partyka and featuring a chamber orchestra and soloists Maggie O’Neill and Fred Calcinari. Join us on the Rooftop for an exciting two-hour special Holiday cocktail class! This interactive experience will include a brief history presentation, the ins-and-outs of building a proper Holiday cocktail. In this class you will be crafting three different Holiday cocktails. On Thursday mornings, Seacoast Science Center hosts its Big Fish Little Fish Play Day. It's a drop-in play and exploration time for children ages 1-5 with an adult. Educator-designed activity stations are set up around the Center to engage children in fine and gross motor skills, sensory, literacy, math and creative activities.
