All Terrain Protects Your Outside, So You Feel Better Inside

I’m not sure when I became someone who reads the labels on everything, checking the list like Santa does — to see what ingredients are naughty or nice. I know for certain that after I gave birth to my first child, I took this task on with rigor. I realized what I fed her or applied to her skin mattered immensely. Now that I have three kids, this can feel overwhelming. Keeping up with the latest sunscreen to have cancer-causing ingredients is beyond overwhelming. And stressing out about the effects of DEET on my young child’s nervous system when in a Seacoast outdoor education program is actually the worst.

Why can’t we trust the ingredients in so many skin care products marketed to children and families?

I could go on and on about this but instead I’ll tell you about a line of skin protection products we are loving here at Seacoast Moms. All Terrain Skin Protection Products are exactly what I’ve been looking for, honestly. Made from 95+% naturally derived ingredients, their products do everything from keeping the bugs away to relieving eczema. Plus, they’re based in New Hampshire and we’re sort of obsessed with shopping local around here.

Here are some of our favorite All Terrain Skin Protection Products:

  • Kids’ Herbal Armor® DEET-Free, Natural* Insect Repellent, Pump Spray: This is kid-friendly, allergy-friendly, and bug UNfriendly (see what I did there?). But seriously, on those summer hikes when the bugs just won’t quit, spray some of this stuff on. Rather than gagging from the chemicals, you’ll be able to breathe easy with the peace of mind that comes from using a safer product. • Eczema Relief Cream: Eczema affects up to 15 million people in our country. Whoa. And 10-20% of infants develop eczema, isn’t that crazy? If your kiddo gets eczema, then you are no stranger to this suffering. Our writer Lyndy (whose child is now doing Ok, thankfully!!) shared her story about her baby’s struggle with eczema. Since it was published, so many readers have messaged us, sharing their similar stories. When your child is dealing with eczema, you need a product with good, trustworthy ingredients that you know will relieve the itch and discomfort.  All Terrain Skin Protection Eczema Relief Cream
  • Bite & Sting Soother Spray: Bugs and stings can really ruin a fun time outside. Even if you’re super diligent about applying safe bug spray, bites can happen. It’s SO nice to be able to offer my kids a quick solution to their itching woes. In the summer, keep one in the car, one on the back porch and one in your hiking backpack! We don’t mess around. We know there are a lot of messages out there about what you should and shouldn’t do for your child’s wellbeing. It can get really noisy, honestly. But we are just a group of moms standing in front of you tell you that we really like this company! We love that it’s local to us, love that it’s easy to shop it online, AND love that All Terrain Skin Protection uses ingredients we love and trust.

Allison’s mission in life is to notice the extraordinary in the ordinary. Her commitment to see beyond what’s in front of her was fostered by her degree in Philosophy and Theology from Boston College. Allison’s a book nerd and credits her parents and inspiring English teachers for her love of reading and writing. She went on to earn her Master in Pastoral Ministry from Boston College and then taught high school for several years, both in New England and San Francisco. After moving from San Francisco to Boston with her engineer husband, she began teaching yoga and working as a social media marketing consultant. Now a Portsmouth resident, she spends most of her days with her three daughters (she does not have enough arms) and does her best to find the bliss amidst the endless snacking, dance parties and tiaras. With all the beautiful chaos in her life, she’s grateful to have her partner-in-crime (husband Charlie) and fellow movie quote enthusiast alongside her. Her passion for writing first drew her to Seacoast Moms as a contributing writer, and her desire to connect moms of the Seacoast with businesses who serve and interest them led her to become SM’s owner. Being able to write about the ordinary grace present in motherhood, while interacting with incredible Seacoast business owners is a dream come true.
