2021 Gift Guide for Teens and Adult Children – Shop Local

0

Buying gifts for teens is hard. I think everyone struggles with what to buy for kids who are too old for toys but too young for a lot of boring adult gifts. I always want to get something they can be excited about but often fall short. So I asked my teens to give me ideas of local places for gifts they would be excited about.

Here is my 2021 Gift Guide for Teens and Adult Children. Happy shopping!

Gift Cards, really?

Yes, teens love gift cards but destination gift cards are even better. Your teens will be so excited to get a gift card to their favorite restaurant, coffee shop, or hang out spot. My teens love to go to Greenroom in Portsmouth to get an Acai bowl, bagel or coffee.  It’s a popular spot for teens and has great, healthy food. Another favorite spot is Las Olas in Hampton and Exeter and Lexie’s in Portsmouth and Exeter. They all sell great merch your teens will love too.  If your kids like to ski, snowboard or skate, you can get them season passes or one day tickets to a ski resort, the Exeter skating rink, or Puddle Duck Pond outdoor skating at Strawberry Banke.

Self Care

Everyone loves a day at the spa and encouraging self care is a great way to show you love them. There are so many great salons and spas in the seacoast to choose from. My teens’ favorite is Luxe Salon and Spa in Seabrook for pedicures and manicures. A gift card to their favorite hair salon or barber is a great gift too. Lash bar in Portsmouth offers facials and their own line of skin care. Teens can always use some professional advice on dealing with acne and break outs.

Bling

Teens and young adults love their bling! Gold hoops and chains are always a winner.  Sterling silver is great too. Summerwind in Portsmouth and Quicksilver in North Hampton are local, family owned businesses that have original, beautiful jewelry. My teens also love to go antique shopping. Route 1 Antiques in Hampton Falls has a huge selection of antique jewelry. They also have a jeweler who can tell you if a gem is real and the value. Jewelry is a personal gift that will always be special to them.

Shop locally this year. Your 2021 Gift Guide for Teens is specifically tailored to our beautiful Seacoast because we know that shopping locally makes a huge difference to our neighbors.

Hi, my name is Heidi. I was born and raised on the Seacoast of New Hampshire and I still believe I’m a mermaid. If I’m not in the water or on the water, I’m wishing I was. I’m a single mom with three kids who are twenty-three, twelve and I’m a foster mom to my soon to be adopted sixteen year old. I’ve been widowed, divorced, and have found there is life and happiness after tragedy. I’ve learned to thrive with my children thanks to the support of my family, friends, and community. As a middle school science teacher, I love to inspire my kids and get them excited about science. I’m also a science curriculum developer, and love to use my twisted humor to write about my crazy beautiful life.
