Social dancing is all about the dance and the music without the smarmy, uncomfortable, hookup feeling. Respect for your partner and just enjoying the dance is one of the basic tenets of the social dance scene. Most places offer a lesson before dancing starts so you can learn the basics and work on your partner skills.
