Why I Like Seacoast United:

Their programs fit your time frame. My son wanted to do a sport this Spring, but not for a whole season. Seacoast United’s four week Soccer Skills & Scrimmage was a great fit for him. At four weeks, it has been the perfect commitment for him – long enough to participate in the sport and learn new skills, yet not too long to feel overcommitted with everything else going on.

Soccer Scrimmage

Seacoast United is a nurturing atmosphere. In addition to fueling the challenging basics (skill drills, games, and plenty of water breaks), the coach gave the kids tons of positive reinforcement and encouragement to keep them motivated. Most noteworthy was how the coach ended the session with an all important question: Did you have fun? Kids need that reminder to keep them level-headed.

I love that the coach emphasized both the skills of soccer and the sheer joy you find in playing it.

My son had a blast at Soccer Skills & Scrimmage! Probably the main reason for him, in addition to having fun, was that there was no down time. No sitting on the bench. He wanted to play soccer, and that’s what he got to do! And he felt like a valued player of the team from day 1.

Group motivation time

When my son’s first session ended, he was thrilled to announce, “We’re going to play a different team next week! This is getting good!” I love that he walked away from the practice with enthusiasm and not indifference. It takes good coaches and a strong program to make kids want to keep coming back.

Hello, I’m Stephanie! I grew up climbing trees and chasing fireflies here in NH, and I love watching my son Rohan do the same! I adore the Seacoast’s close-knit community and constant stream of wholesome family activities, and I feel grateful to be here. I have a Master’s in English Education and have taught both at home and abroad. Writing has been a quiet passion of mine since childhood, and I admire anyone who has the courage to put pen to paper and express themselves. My husband and I are from different cultures, so ours is a multicultural, bilingual home. We divide our time and hearts to family both in the U.S. and India, trying to give our son the best of both worlds. It isn’t always easy balancing here and there, but I grew up watching my European parents do the same. They taught me to be curious, appreciative, and respectful when merging two cultures, because you find more silver linings than roadblocks. This inspires me to be a better mother every day.
