Valentine’s Day: It’s Not Just for the Kids, Remember?

There’s glitter everywhere. Glue sticks and heart stickers are strewn all over your kitchen counter. A sea of red and pink envelopes you. Your children are making Valentines. Yay. While they cut and glue on repeat, asking you every five seconds how to spell each kids’ name in their class, you dream of a simpler time. A time when Valentine’s Day was a little more adult. More wine, less glitter.

We at Seacoast Moms Blog want to bring back that simpler time this year. We’ve designed what we think is an ideal Seacoast Valentine’s Day — with giveaways to boot! So sit back, relax and imagine this holiday with just a little more glamour.

A Seacoast Valentine’s Day Designed With You In Mind

Step 1: Primp

One of our favorite spots for primping is in York, Maine. Owned by Seacoast mom Kimberlee Smith, Coastal Aesthetics Medi-Spa does everything from skin rejuvenation to hair removal — covering all your bases this Valentine’s Day. They offer complimentary evaluations for all treatments and work with you to help create a customized program that fits your individual needs. From Botox to Juvederm, micro-needling to full laser services, Coastal Aesthetics can guide you through the process of maintaining a youthful and healthier appearance.

The team at CA is generously giving away lash tint treatments to two lucky readers in addition to one laser bikini treatment! Enter on our Facebook page to win!

Step 2: Gift

Nothing beats flowers on Valentine’s Day. Whether from a friend or your spouse, flowers are an incredible gift, particularly in the wintry Seacoast. If you’re looking for an amazing florist in the Seacoast, look no further than Cymbidium Floral in Exeter. Also mama-owned by Jessica Christoferson, this shop specializes in unusual fresh flowers. Jessica hand picks the flowers each week at the New England Flower Exchange where flowers arrive from all around the world.

Cymbidium Floral is giving away a rich and romantic Valentine’s day arrangement (a $50 value). It’s their pick for an alternative to roses and will take your breath away! Head over to Facebook to enter.

Step 3: Dine

Last but not least, Valentine’s Day is a perfect reason to hit the town and celebrate. Whether you’re with girlfriends or that special someone, February 14th is a night to indulge! Our pick this year for the perfect Seacoast Valentine’s Day dinner is Row 34, located in the heart of Portsmouth. Famous for its local oysters and incredible bar, this restaurant offers a chic atmosphere perfect for a special night.

We are thrilled that Row 34 is giving away a $100 gift certificate to one lucky reader! Don’t miss the chance to enter this amazing raffle.

A Perfect Seacoast Valentine’s Day

Wherever you are in your life with love, Valentine’s Day is a wonderful excuse to treat yourself. We at Seacoast Moms Blog want you to feel loved and pampered this February 14th (and really every day). As moms we do so much for our children. Small (and big) acts of love comprise our days with our families.

Allison’s mission in life is to notice the extraordinary in the ordinary. Her commitment to see beyond what’s in front of her was fostered by her degree in Philosophy and Theology from Boston College. Allison’s a book nerd and credits her parents and inspiring English teachers for her love of reading and writing. She went on to earn her Master in Pastoral Ministry from Boston College and then taught high school for several years, both in New England and San Francisco. After moving from San Francisco to Boston with her engineer husband, she began teaching yoga and working as a social media marketing consultant. Now a Portsmouth resident, she spends most of her days with her three daughters (she does not have enough arms) and does her best to find the bliss amidst the endless snacking, dance parties and tiaras. With all the beautiful chaos in her life, she’s grateful to have her partner-in-crime (husband Charlie) and fellow movie quote enthusiast alongside her. Her passion for writing first drew her to Seacoast Moms as a contributing writer, and her desire to connect moms of the Seacoast with businesses who serve and interest them led her to become SM’s owner. Being able to write about the ordinary grace present in motherhood, while interacting with incredible Seacoast business owners is a dream come true.
