Wellness, it sounds relaxing, nurturing, and grounding as soon as you say it. I’m sure some of your friends and family think so too. So why not give the gift of wellness this holiday season? Since wellness encompasses a lot of different aspects, I scoured the Seacoast for a variety of locations, studios and services to keep everyone on your list happy!

Movement

Have someone who loves to take fitness classes and try new things? Well we’ve got some great spots here on the seacoast to do just that.

The Suite Studio in Dover is a boutique fitness studio that has classes that range from cardio and lifting all the way to barre and yoga. Perfect for any fitness fanatic!

You’ll also find Studio One Cycle in the same building if who you’re shopping for loves a good heart pumping spin class. 3 Bridges Yoga has studios in Portsmouth and York and teaches all levels yoga classes. Blaze Yoga (Portsmouth) and Steam House (Epping) both offer heated yoga, pilates, and fitness classes. Looking for one on one low impact movement check out Dover Pilates. They offer both small group classes and private options!

Bodywork

Most the time we think of massage when we think of bodywork but the seacoast is full of other options. Check out these local spots for anyone who may have aches, pains or just needs some time to relax.

Rise Wellness Collective in York has an array of practitioners offering massage, reflexology, reiki, yoga and more! Looking for a great local place to gift someone with a massage?  Portsmouth Massage Therapy and Laureen Magee Massage and Wellness both offer flexible times and massage options.  In Motion Chiropractic has offices in both Dover and Portsmouth and offer chiropractic work to keep everyone’s spine happy and healthy. CJ Physical Therapy and Pilates have physical therapists who work one on one or find a pilates class thats a good time and fit for someone on your list. Have a favorite woman in your life? Maybe get her an acupuncture session or two at Rhythms For Women. They specialize in acupuncture for women’s health – fertility, stress, anxiety, PMS, menopause.

A Little Something Different…

These unique spots are sure to be a hit for that person who has everything!

Flote has two locations on the Seacoast. The location in Hampton offers floatation therapy as well as massage, acupuncture and a studio that holds wellness classes (including yoga with Soulfire Yoga) and workshops. Their Portsmouth location offers massage, infrared sauna and floatation therapy. Or gift someone with a trip to Soleil’s Salt Caves in Exeter. The caves not only offer a relaxing atmosphere but the fine salt mist throughout may reduce inflammation, help with respiratory issues and even boost immune-response.

Hello, I'm Rachel! I was born and raised in a small town in Southern Maine. Now I live in Seacoast New Hampshire with my ruggedly handsome husband, our sweet son, dog, and two cats. I received my degree in Marine Biology from Hawai'i Pacific University and soon after graduating I moved to Boston and began working in animal medicine. A few years after getting married, my husband and I found ourselves moving to New Hampshire and expecting our son. Now you can find me teaching yoga classes throughout Seacoast New Hampshire. I have traveled a bunch, LOVE the ocean, I always have a thousand "projects" happening at once, love a good workout, and have found the perfect balance between lazy weekends and having adventures.
