I distinctly remember the feeling I had when I first walked into Seacoast Birth & Family Connection to attend a Mommy Mingles event last fall. It was a sense of warmth from the people there, especially the center’s owner, Michelle Brewster. She made me feel welcome, despite being extremely busy with the event and other guests.

There is a sense of community among all of the businesses that are included under the Seacoast Birth & Family Connection umbrella that I truly cherish. That is why, after that visit, I chose them as a partner for my own business.

As a doula, I was not only looking for a space to hold classes, but for mentors in the mom and baby field to give me some guidance and support. Since becoming involved at this center, I have been overwhelmed with all of the thoughtful and valuable advice I received. The same level of detail and attention is put into all of the offerings at the center.

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Back Story

Seacoast Birth & Family Connection started out as a Facebook page and developed into a physical location in 2014. The vision was to have a central location that would provide services and resources for all things mom, baby, and family. Located on Route 1 in North Hampton, the outside of the center looks like someone’s cozy home. The rustic barn and beautiful fields are the perfect backdrop for summertime events, like Bubble Palooza and Family Movie Night. Inside the building among the homey décor and comfortable couches, you will find multiple businesses that cater to young families. These include Diagnostic Ultrasound Suite, Mac Photography, Boston Baby Beginnings, Bumps and Babes LLC, and The Essence of Healthy Living. Almost two short years after opening, the center has certainly become that one-stop-shop that was originally envisioned.

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Events

In addition to the businesses providing services, there are numerous other events held throughout the year at the center. Follow Seacoast Birth & Family Connection on Facebook to stay in the know of what’s happening!

Mommy Mingles: You can come for an evening out to meet other moms, enjoy healthy snacks, and win some prizes, while learning about family-oriented businesses that may benefit their lives. These events are held every other month with a new theme. The two most recent Mommy Mingle themes were Prenatal and Newborn Wellness and Fitness and Health for Mom. Both were a huge hit as moms enjoyed trying out mini demos of different workouts from local fitness gurus, services from a chiropractor, and even hand massage with essential oils. Mommy Mingles events coming up later this year will include: Childcare and Education, Baby Basics, and Trendy Moms, a fun shopping night just in time for the holidays.

Networking Events: Seacoast Birth & Family Connection loves helping small business entrepreneurs! At a recent networking event held at the center, I was able to make some amazing connections with other businesses that will support my business, become a referral source, and gain insight from their experience.

Bubble Pa13701241_1077058365708094_1412403306127431742_olooza 2016: Families can come dance to a DJ on the back lawn while more bubbles than your child can imagine float around them! This event includes vendors for food and kids activities, too.  Bubble Palooza is happening August 18th!

Family Movies in the Barn: Come with a cozy blanket and watch a family movie under the stars! Coming in September.

Expansion is on the horizon as Seacoast Birth & Family Connection is looking for more family-focused businesses to join in providing exceptional services to Seacoast families. With the addition of new resources to the center, it will continue to be you one-stop-shop for all of your needs for pregnancy, baby, and beyond.

Hello, I’m Diana! Although I was born in Salem, MA, I consider myself as native to NH as a person can be. My husband and I settled in a tiny little town only eight miles from where I grew up. I love the Seacoast and I’m here to stay! I am a Registered Dietitian and my most recent adventure is starting my own business, Bumps and Babes LLC. www.bumpsandbabes.com This is my passion and it’s true that when you are doing what you love, it doesn’t feel like work! Braeden is my funny, goofball of a seven-year-old son who stuns me with his loyalty and insight at times. McKaelyn is my sweet and sassy four-year-old daughter whose gorgeous brown eyes can melt my heart no matter what mischief she’s gotten into. In the little spare time I have, I enjoy being a part of the Women’s Club in my town, cooking healthy meals, walking my neighborhood, and spending time with family and friends (and especially cherish my girl time!).
